This assignment will provide the student with an opportunity to develop and elaborate on their learning related to the different types of memory and explain connections between types of memory and specific classroom practices and strategies.
Part 1: Graphic Organizer
Using a graphic organizer, compare, define, and illustrate concepts related to working memory and long-term memory. Include information related to capacity, limitations, emotions, and classroom instructional strategies related to cognition and emotional development. Refer to your textbook for examples.
Part 2: Essay
Using the knowledge you have developed by creating the graphic organizer, compose an essay of 500-750 words that describes and elaborates 2-3 instructional strategies that can be used to support long-term memory. As part of the essay, select a grade-level appropriate to your work setting and describe specific applications for that grade level.
