Narrative Description:
Almost a month after I had returned from Warwick, U.K. after completing my masters degree
in Organizational Analysis, I attended a paper presentation by Dr. (VK), a
leading name in the field of psychoanalysis in Delhi, India. VK was my professor for 3 years
while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Delhi University.
Adding to some feedback and queries from her colleagues, I asked, “Ma’am, but how will
you explain the allegory of Ganesha’s elephant head using Freudian Perspective?” VK
laughed and replied, “If you have that knowledge, why don’t you come and present this paper
instead of me?” She didn’t give me an opportunity to say anything further, and neither did
she give a response to my comment. She instead requested another question.
